Terms of Service

By creating a MatchPoint account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use MatchPoint.

You must be at least 16 years old to use MatchPoint. By accepting, you confirm you meet this requirement.

MatchPoint provides:

• A platform for finding tennis and padel opponents
• ELO-based competitive rankings
• Court booking and scheduling tools
• In-app messaging between players

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with reasonable notice to users.

You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate information during signup
• Keeping your password secure and confidential
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Ensuring you meet the age requirement of 16+

You may have only one active account. Creating multiple accounts to manipulate rankings or evade suspensions is grounds for a permanent ban.

By submitting match results, you confirm:

• The match was played in full and in good faith
• Both players agreed to the result
• No result manipulation or rank boosting occurred
• You played the match yourself (no account sharing)

Manipulating the ELO system — including sandbagging, rank boosting, or submitting false results — may lead to score reversal and account suspension.

Booking terms:

• Booking a court requires a mobile number verified by SMS
• Each club sets its own rules, including its cancellation policy. Some clubs do not allow a booking to be changed or cancelled within a set time before it starts (for example 24 hours); the app shows this before you book
• Unless the app says otherwise, you pay the club directly. MatchPoint does not charge you for court bookings, and any refund is a matter for the club under its own policy
• Only book a court you intend to use. Booking courts you do not intend to use, or giving someone else's name or phone number, breaches these Terms and may lead to suspension
• No-shows may result in fees charged by the club and a lower reputation score
• Disputes about a booking, or about a club's facilities or services, should first be raised with the club directly

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, or abuse other players
• Send spam, solicitations, or unauthorized promotional content
• Impersonate other players or organizations
• Upload obscene, illegal, or infringing content
• Attempt to hack, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service
• Use MatchPoint for any commercial purpose without our written consent

Violations may result in warnings, message deletion, or account suspension.

We may suspend or permanently ban your account if:

• You violate these Terms or our community guidelines
• You engage in fraud, harassment, or illegal activity
• You repeatedly no-show bookings or matches
• Your account has been inactive for over 24 months

You may delete your account at any time from the app settings. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Tennis and padel are physical sports with an inherent risk of injury. You take part in any match, game or booking arranged through MatchPoint voluntarily and at your own risk.

• You are responsible for your own health and fitness to play, your equipment, your conduct on court, and for following the rules of the club where you play. If you have a medical condition, check with a doctor before playing.
• MatchPoint is a platform that helps players find each other and book courts. We do not organise, supervise, coach or referee matches, and we do not own, operate or inspect the clubs or their facilities.
• Clubs are independent businesses. Their courts, facilities, staff and rules are their own responsibility, under their own terms and policies, and any claim about them is between you and the club.

MatchPoint is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

• Any injury, illness, accident, loss or damage suffered during or in connection with a match, game or court booking arranged through the app, including on a club's premises
• The condition, safety or availability of a club's courts and facilities, or the actions of club staff or other players
• Disputes between players, or between players and clubs
• Loss of data due to service outages or account deletion
• Financial losses from court bookings or third-party transactions

You use MatchPoint at your own risk. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for intent or gross negligence, liability for death or personal injury where the law does not allow it to be excluded, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece and the European Union. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Athens, Greece, unless EU consumer law provides otherwise in your jurisdiction.
