Delete your account

The fastest way to delete your account is from inside the MatchPoint mobile app:

1. Open MatchPoint on your phone
2. Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation
3. Tap the Settings icon (top right)
4. Scroll down to Delete account
5. Confirm by typing DELETE and tap the red button

Your account and all associated personal data will be removed within 24 hours. The action is permanent — we cannot recover deleted accounts.

If you can no longer sign in (lost phone, forgotten password, or uninstalled the app), email us and we will delete your account on your behalf:

Please email from the address you used to register. We will respond within 30 days as required by GDPR. We may ask for additional verification to confirm you are the account owner.

The following data is permanently removed when you delete your account:

• Profile information (name, username, bio, avatar)
• Email address and authentication credentials
• Phone number
• Location data (city, GPS history)
• Sport preferences and skill level
• Direct messages and match chats you sent
• Friend connections
• Pending challenges and game invites
• Device push tokens (FCM)
• Notifications
• Reviews you have written
• Game posts you have created
• Documents you sent to be verified as a coach

For the integrity of the ranking system and other players' records, a limited amount of data may be retained in anonymised form:

• Match results: historical scores remain in the system to preserve other players' ELO history. Your name is replaced with "Deleted player" and is no longer linked to you.
• Booking records: court bookings already completed may be retained by the partner club for their own records, governed by the club's own privacy policy.
• Financial records: if you have made paid bookings, transaction records may be retained for up to 10 years as required by Greek tax law (νόμος 4308/2014).

• In-app deletion: account is queued immediately, fully removed within 24 hours.
• Email request: processed within 30 days (GDPR requirement).
• Backups: data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days, after which it is permanently overwritten.

If you only want to remove specific data (for example, your location history or a specific match record), email us at privacy@matchpointapp.gr describing what you'd like removed. We'll respond within 30 days.
